One of our customers, LG, asked us early on if we would be willing to be a collection point for hats knit for preemie and infants at Madigan Army Hospital. Little did we know how this program would take off with several of our customers!
A good number of customers have knit or crocheted dozens of these sweet hats for babies, and they continue to touch our hearts with their willingness to make hats for the babies at Madigan.
As of the end of December, 2009, this group has donated just under 400 hats to the program! Some donations arrive from family members clear across the USA.
Please remember that these hats should be made with the softest of yarns, and that they should be machine wash/dry. Any color or combination of colors will be great - just remember that it will be worn by an infant. Several of our knitters combine leftovers to make hats with a variegated brim and solid top, or stripes - anything goes as long as it's soft and cute!
